THE STORY SO FAR

The love of the wild is strong. We have created a collection of small beautiful, sustainable places to stay from the fabulous remote retreats Croft 103 on the shores of Loch Eriboll to our our boutique B&B in the village. The ethos has always been about quality, sustainability and an experience in tune with the natural environment.

Born & raised in Durness we live a humble but fantastically happy life, doing what we choose to do. Creating beautiful places to stay in tune with our environment, working our croft, breeding cattle, keeping bees, scallop diving and indulging in our love of dogs. - this wild place we call home is in our blood. We eat, live and breathe our passion every single day - on purpose, we love it, we choose it, and feel very privileged to be able to call Durness and “Mackay Country“ home.

Our passion for Durness and around is well known. Our love of hosting and welcoming people to this place means we work tirelessly in combining the idyllic location, with a wide range of high quality properties and a genuine welcome that needs to be experienced.

Fall in Love with the North West

We have created an opportunity for people to explore and experience “the wild” whether this be our amazing beached coastline, rugged mountains or simply our weather,from beautifully considered places to stay.

We invite guests to fall in love with the north west and share our admiration and respect as to what we have to offer them. There is an increasingly strong feeling of responsibility as custodians of this land and our personal stake in the future of our landscape, community and people. We have made a strong commitment to sustainable practices as well as support for our wider community. We strive to minimise our impact and the impact of our guests on our precious place and where we can enhance our natural environment and our impact on it.
